After completing an extensive ECU soak test, the customer was advised that the unit was faulty and could be repaired.

After testing we found the coil packed circuit had burnt out on the ECU due to a failed coil pack on the vehicle. We were able to repair the ECU and advised the customer to replace the coil pack on the vehicle prior to fitting the engine ECU.

BMW 730D ECU ReplacementsA customer in Bolton, Manchester sent an ECU in for a BMW 730D.  He advised that it was having intermittent starting issues. After the initial test, no faults were discovered however on an extensive soak test the ecu did trigger faults and we were able to locate the issue with the main processor which was unfortunately irreparable. FORD FOCUS 1.6 TDCI ECU (Bosch: 4M51 12A650 YD / 0281011701)

Ford Focus Bosch EDC16C34 ECU TestingWe were sent this ECU for a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI from a garage in Leeds, West Yorkshire, regarding issues with intermittent starting and sometimes no connection with the ECU via diagnostic equipment. After completing a full ECU Test, we were able to advise them that the unit was faulty and could be repaired.

On inspecting the ECU, we discovered dry solder joints along the ECU connecter and signs of water ingress. Therefore we re-soldered the connecter, cleaned and re-worked the board before re-testing to confirm that the repairs were successful.
