After completing an extensive ECU soak test, the customer was advised that the unit was faulty and could be repaired.

After testing we found the coil packed circuit had burnt out on the ECU due to a failed coil pack on the vehicle. We were able to repair the ECU and advised the customer to replace the coil pack on the vehicle prior to fitting the engine ECU.

Ford Focus Bosch EDC16C34 ECU TestingWe were sent this ECU for a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI from a garage in Leeds, West Yorkshire, regarding issues with intermittent starting and sometimes no connection with the ECU via diagnostic equipment. After completing a full ECU Test, we were able to advise them that the unit was faulty and could be repaired.

On inspecting the ECU, we discovered dry solder joints along the ECU connecter and signs of water ingress. Therefore we re-soldered the connecter, cleaned and re-worked the board before re-testing to confirm that the repairs were successful.

On visual inspection, it was identified that several components had failed and also the unit had software corruption. Therefore, we replaced the components, reworked the PCB and then re-flashed with new software before re-testing to confirm that the repairs were successful.

Mercedes SL350 (Bosch: 0261 208 353 – OEM: A1121535779) ECU Repaired

Bosch ME2.8 ECU TestingA workshop in Bolton, Manchester sent an ECU in from a 2004 Mercedes-Benz SL350. They extensively diagnosed a P2073 fault code relating to the fan motor malfunctioning and state that the motor runs on maximum speed from the second you turn the ignition on (even on a cold start).

We completed our ECU Testing and confirmed the unit was faulty and repairable. With authorisation from the customer we proceeded to repair the ECU and then re-tested it to confirm the repairs were successful and we were able to clear he P2073 fault code on the bench and have the ECU running without the fault code coming back.
