Two of the words printed after the Ford numbers on this page end in a figure rather than a letter: OIT0 finishes with a zero, and OIT1 with a one. Read them as the letters O and I and neither will match our table, so on these units the word needs as much care as the number. We repair all four LBO-140 numbers listed below at component level.

OIT0 and OIT1: a zero and a one, not O and I

1S7F-12A650-DAE and 1S7F-12A650-DAF are the closest pair here. Their numbers part only at the final letter, E or F, and the words beside them part only at the final character. OIT0 is on record beside DAE, and OIT1 beside DAF.

A misread at the end of this label does not lead nowhere; it leads to the neighbouring row. Before relying on either half, check that the ending and the word belong together: E goes with the zero, F with the one.

3S71-12A650-GA, the odd one out

The fourth number is the outlier. It is the only one on the 3S71-12A650 base, and its ending has two letters, GA, where the other three have three. The word 4GNA is on record printed beside it.

So read the base first. A label starting 3S71 points to GA; one starting 1S7F hands the choice to the ending and its word. The record does not settle the engine behind GA, so the base and 4GNA are what identify it.

DAC and the word BILL

1S7F-12A650-DAC shares its base with DAE and DAF, and its ending is only one letter away from DAE’s. The word is what sets it apart. BILL is on record beside DAC, and it looks nothing like OIT0 or OIT1, so even a partly legible word separates this row from the pair.

How far the car takes you

All four numbers are on record from the Ford Mondeo Mk3, so the car is consistent with this page but does not choose a row. DAC, DAE and DAF are each on record from the 2.0 Mondeo, and DAC and DAE from petrol cars.

DAC and DAE have also been recorded from cars with automatic gearboxes. That points towards those two rows without ruling out the others, so the label still decides.

The name LBO-140 works the same way. It is on record printed with all four numbers, so it agrees with whichever row your unit proves to be and leaves the choice to the base, the ending and the word.

From arrival to return

Every stage is carried out by our own engineers, in our UK workshop and on our own equipment. A unit is logged on arrival, inspected, tested electrically and then diagnosed against the fault you describe.

We then contact you with the cause and an estimate, and no chargeable work begins until you authorise it. The repair is made at component level, under a microscope with temperature-controlled rework equipment, and the unit leaves only after passing final testing. We warrant the repair for 24 months.

What to send with the unit

Every unit we repair reaches us through the mail, from anywhere in the UK. Before yours goes in the post, transfer the ending and its word to our Repair Form, keeping the zero or the one as a figure if your word is OIT0 or OIT1, and describe what the fault does.

If nothing here matches, look up the Ford number your label does carry. For a unit from another make, go to engine ECU repairs for the car you actually have; the full span of work we accept is set out separately.

Hyphens are dropped in the table below, so 3S71-12A650-GA appears as 3S7112A650GA, followed by its word.
