If the Peugeot Boxer or Citroën Relay this unit came from has the 2.2 HDi engine, the Bosch EDC15C7 recorded for it is 0281010345. With the 2.0 HDi, it is 0281010346. Those are the two rows in the table below, and the rest of this page is about confirming which one you are holding.
Almost every detail on the unit, and on the van, points to one of those rows without help. The exception is the detail most people start with: the name on the front of the van.
Boxer, Relay or Jumper: the same van
The Peugeot Boxer and the Citroën Relay are one van with two badges, and outside the UK the Citroën version is sold as the Jumper. The Fiat Ducato is the same van again, and it takes the same two units.
Both rows are recorded on the Boxer and on the Relay or Jumper, so the badge narrows nothing: either van can carry either unit. Still name the van on the Repair Form, but leave the choice of row to the details below.
2.0 or 2.2 HDi: the engine gives the expected row
Engine size is the cleanest split on this page. In our records 0281010345 appears only with the 2.2 HDi and 0281010346 only with the 2.0 HDi, and neither has turned up against the other size.
The order is easy to get backwards. The lower Bosch number belongs to the larger engine, so check the pairing here rather than assuming the numbers climb with capacity.
Knowing the engine tells you which row to expect, not which one you have. If the unit was bought loose, or the van’s engine size is uncertain, skip this step entirely; the label can settle it alone.
The two Bosch numbers differ only in the last digit
The two Bosch numbers are consecutive. 0281010345 and 0281010346 share their first nine digits, so the closing 5 or 6 is the entire difference between the rows.
On a clean label that is simple to read. On a worn or partly scuffed one, a 5 and a 6 are easy to confuse, which is where the engine size earns its place as a cross-check: a 2.2 HDi van should give a number ending 5.
If the two disagree, do not decide between them. Copy the label exactly as it reads, give the engine size separately, and our technical team will confirm the unit rather than guess.
The second number on the label
The label may also carry a vehicle manufacturer’s reference beside the Bosch number, and on this van that can be a Peugeot/Citroën number or a Fiat one. Either kind, read in full, belongs to one row only.
For 0281010345, the Peugeot/Citroën number is 96 486 086 80. Fiat’s number for the same unit is 13323770, usually written in full as 1332377080, and that is the reference the table prints in this row.
For 0281010346, the Peugeot/Citroën number is 96 461 385 80. A second Peugeot/Citroën number, 96 483 127 80, is also seen on 0281010346 units, so either of those beside a Bosch number ending 6 points to the same row.
If neither number on your label appears on this page, the unit is probably another designation. Look through every Peugeot engine ECU page, van or car, or Citroën engine ECUs sorted by designation; for a vehicle from another manufacturer, start from engine ECU repairs, all makes together.
From the Repair Form to the bench
Fill in the Repair Form, copying the label line for line, then add the van’s name, its engine size and a description of the fault as the driver experiences it. The service is mail-in only, open to senders anywhere in the UK.
On arrival the unit is booked in, examined, tested electrically and then taken through diagnostics directed at the fault you reported. Our own engineers carry out the repair in-house, in our UK workshop, working on the failed part itself under a microscope with temperature-controlled rework equipment rather than swapping the whole unit.
You receive the findings and a quote before anything further happens, and no chargeable work starts without your authorisation. The unit is returned only after it passes final testing, and the specific repair carried out is covered by our 24-month warranty.
Check your label against the two rows below.
