For anyone keeping a Ford Puma 1.7 running, a fault in its engine ECU need not be the end of the original unit. We repair the LP2-318 engine ECUs listed here at component level, in our own UK workshop, and return them by post.

The Puma Sigma 1.7 and its LP2-318 units

Both Ford numbers in our table, 1S6F-12A650-HA and 1S6F-12A650-HB, are on record as LP2-318 units from the Ford Puma 1.7. Listings for each of them describe the car as the Puma Sigma 1.7, Sigma being the name those listings give the engine.

HA is also on record as a 16-valve unit; for HB, the valve count is not confirmed. The car and the engine name are the same on both records, so it is the label that settles which unit you have.

Reading the label on a Puma 1.7 unit

The two numbers share the base 1S6F-12A650 and differ only in their final letter, HA on one and HB on the other. The four-character word printed after the number is the other half of the label: DIVE goes with HA and QQP0 with HB, and the two words have no character in common.

Copy both parts across exactly as they are printed, ending and word together. If any character is hard to make out, say so on the Repair Form rather than guessing at it.

Diagnosis first, then the repair

Each unit is logged and inspected when it reaches us, then electrically tested before diagnostics aimed at the reported fault. We contact you with what we found and an estimate, and no chargeable work starts until you approve it.

The repair itself is carried out at component level, under a microscope and with temperature-controlled rework equipment, and it is finished only once the unit passes final testing. We guarantee the repair we carry out for 24 months.
