Our Siemens SID801A table prints one Peugeot or Citroën number, 96 474 233 80, and it is on record printed with both of the units the table covers. It will confirm that an SID801A belongs on this page. It will not tell you which of the two you are holding.

The 96 number in our SID801A table is shared

Our table lists 5WS40155C against 96 474 233 80 and lists 5WS40146F by its Siemens number only. The same 96 number is also printed with 5WS40146F, so on its own it does not tell the two apart.

Treat it as a confirmation rather than a choice. If it is on your label, you have the right family, and the row has to be settled by something else on the case.

The second 96 number is the one that differs

An SID801A label usually carries a second 96 number as well, and that one is different on each of our two units. Our table does not print it, which is the reason to send it: of the 96 numbers on the case, it is the one that differs between 5WS40146F and 5WS40155C.

Copy every 96 number printed on the unit, with the spacing it is printed in, and do not stop at the first one you find.

Reading the Siemens number on an SID801A

The Siemens number, digits and letter together, is what decides the row. Our table prints each unit as 5WS40, three digits, a letter and -T, as in 5WS40146F-T and 5WS40155C-T. Sellers print the same number as 5WS40146F-T, 5WS40146FT or 5WS40146F, and each form refers to the same unit.

The family name is written SID801A or SID 801A. An SID801 without the A is a different family, so read the name on the label to its last character before you match it here.

If the label names another family, look through the Peugeot engine ECU hub, where the other families sit, or Citroën’s own engine ECU hub. If the car came from a third maker, start from our engine ECU repairs page instead.

The Citroën Berlingo and the 2.0 HDi on record

Both numbers are on record from the Citroën Berlingo, so the car confirms the family and settles nothing between the two units. No Peugeot car is on record against either, although the spec lines above name both makes.

Engine size is the one detail about the car that differs on record. 5WS40146F is on record with the 2.0 HDi, and 5WS40155C has no engine size on record, so a 2.0 HDi is consistent with 5WS40146F without ruling 5WS40155C out.
