Among the four Bosch A2.2 units on this page, the Citroën badge narrows things down faster than the Peugeot one. Each Citroën recorded, the AX, the BX and the ZX, sits against a single Bosch number, while the Peugeot 106 sits against three and the Peugeot 205 against two.
Four Bosch A2.2 units across two engine sizes
All four A2.2 numbers we list come from small Peugeot and Citroën petrol engines, and all four begin 0280 000 7. Two belong to a 1.1-litre engine and two to a 1.4-litre:
- 0280000745: Peugeot 205 and Citroën BX, 1.4 petrol
- 0280000749: Peugeot 106 and Peugeot 205, 1.1 petrol
- 0280000751: Peugeot 106 and Citroën AX, 1.1 petrol
- 0280000752: Citroën ZX and Peugeot 106, 1.4 petrol
Engine size is the first cut, and it halves the field: a 1.1 leaves 749 and 751, a 1.4 leaves 745 and 752. Each size still carries two numbers, so the car has to do the next piece of work.
Why a Citroën badge says more than a Peugeot one
With the size known, the model usually finishes the job, and on the Citroën side it always does here. A 1.4 BX points to 745, a 1.4 ZX to 752 and a 1.1 AX to 751: each is recorded against one number only.
The Peugeot 205 is almost as straightforward. It is recorded against one 1.4 row and one 1.1 row, so a 1.4-litre 205 goes to 745 and a 1.1-litre 205 to 749.
The Peugeot 106 is the exception. It turns up on three of the four rows, once at 1.4 and twice at 1.1. A 1.4-litre 106 leads to 752; a 1.1-litre 106 leads to both 749 and 751, and neither model nor engine size separates them.
The 1.1-litre Peugeot 106: where only the label will do
Of every pairing of car and engine size on this page, the 1.1-litre 106 is the one left open. For that car, only the Bosch number on the case says which unit you are holding.
All four numbers share their opening digits, so read the label to the end. The last three digits are where 749 and 751 part company, and they are what we match your unit against.
The label also settles the engine size for any reader who does not know it, since each of the four numbers belongs to one size only.
No Citroën or Peugeot part number in our A2.2 table
The OEM column in our A2.2 table is empty on all four rows. We have not paired a Citroën or Peugeot part number with any of these units, so the Bosch number is the one to match.
If your label carries another number as well, copy it exactly as printed and send it with the Bosch number. Please do not substitute one found in a catalogue or listing.
A Bosch number outside these four is still worth sending with the car’s details; our technical team confirms coverage for a specific unit rather than guessing. For a different Bosch designation, look through Peugeot’s other engine ECUs and our Citroën list, or see engine ECU repairs for a car outside both marques.
What happens to an A2.2 once it reaches us
Every A2.2 is repaired in-house by our own engineers, in our own UK workshop. On arrival the unit is logged, inspected by eye, tested electrically and taken through diagnostics aimed at its fault. We then contact you with what we found and a quote; no chargeable work begins until you authorise it.
The repair is made at component level, under a microscope with temperature-controlled rework equipment, so the fault is dealt with where it sits rather than by swapping the whole ECU. The unit comes back only once it passes final testing, and the specific repair carried out is covered by our 24-month warranty.
We take units by post from across the UK. When the ECU is out of the car, use the Repair Form to give us the size, the car and the label, plus any other number on the case and a line on how the fault shows itself.
