The Siemens SIM22 engine ECUs in our table are on record from two petrol Fords, the Fiesta and the Fusion, with 1.25, 1.4 and 1.6 engines. Knowing which of those cars your unit came from narrows the search, but the label on the unit is what finishes it.
Fiesta or Fusion: how far the car gets you
Each Ford number in our table is on record from a Ford Fiesta, except 4S61-12A650-FA, which is on record from the Ford Fusion. The Fusion is not confined to that one row, though.
The Fusion is also on record, alongside the Fiesta, against 2S6A-12A650-SE, 2S6A-12A650-SF and 2S6A-12A650-TF. That puts the Fusion on record against four rows and the Fiesta against eleven, so the car on its own leaves most of the table in play.
Engine size sorts the rows without settling them
Where an engine size is on record for an individual Ford number, it splits the rows three ways. 3S61-12A650-CB is on record from the 1.25; 2S6A-12A650-SE, SF and SH, 4S61-12A650-EA and 4S61-12A650-FA from the 1.4; and 2S6A-12A650-TF and 2S6A-12A650-TE from the 1.6.
The other rows have no engine size on record individually, so a 1.4 or a 1.6 does not rule them out. Engine size is worth giving us, and worth checking against the row you settle on, but the Ford number still has to make the choice.
The Ford number makes the match
Start with the Ford number on the label, which takes the form 2S6A-12A650-SE. The characters after the second hyphen are where the rows part company: SE, SF, SG and SH all begin 2S6A-12A650, and TE and TF differ by a single letter.
Our table prints each Ford number without hyphens and follows it with a four-character code, so 2S6A-12A650-SF appears as 2S6A12A650SF 4ROT. The code is worth copying as well: 4ROT is recorded on labels beside 2S6A-12A650-SF, and 3BMA beside 4S61-12A650-CA. Copy the whole line as printed, code included.
The Siemens base and its letter, read as one
The Siemens number on the same label begins S118107 and ends in a closing letter. Some rows share a base: S118107002 is shared by four Ford numbers and S118107003 by two, so on those rows the letter is what separates one unit from the next.
A letter on its own is no better. F appears as S118107002 F beside 2S6A-12A650-SE and as S118107003 F beside 2S6A-12A650-TE, and J as S118107002 J beside 2S6A-12A650-SF and as S118107003 J beside 2S6A-12A650-TF. Read the base and the letter together, and use them to check the Ford number rather than to find the row.
The remaining pairings on record are S118107002 K with 2S6A-12A650-SG, S118107002 L with 2S6A-12A650-SH, S118107006 D with 2S6A-12A650-YD, S118107007 D with 2U7A-12A650-TD, S118107004 D with 3S61-12A650-CB, S118107014 A with 4S61-12A650-CA, S118107012 A with 4S61-12A650-EA and S118107016 A with 4S61-12A650-FA.
No rule links the Ford suffix to the Siemens letter, so copy the letter from your label rather than predicting it. Where the Siemens number in our table has no letter, expect one on the label and let the Ford number make the match.
How a SIM22 is repaired in our workshop
A SIM22 reaches our workshop by post from garages and owners across the UK, and our own engineers repair it in-house on our own equipment. Each unit is logged, looked over and tested electrically, then diagnosed against the fault you describe. Board-level work is done under a microscope with temperature-controlled rework equipment, and the repair is complete only once the unit passes final testing.
When diagnosis is finished we tell you what we found, with an estimate for the repair, and nothing chargeable starts until you agree to it. The repair we carry out is covered by a 24-month warranty.
Sending your SIM22 in
Before you post the unit, copy the full label onto our Repair Form: the Ford number with its four-character code, and the Siemens number with its closing letter. Add the car, its engine size and what the engine was doing when the fault appeared.
If your Ford number is not in our table, try the SIM210 page for more Fiesta units. The Ford page that sits above this one covers the other Ford engine ECUs we list, and an engine ECU from another make comes under the engine ECU repair service at large.
Our table follows, with the Ford number in the first column and the Siemens number in the second.
