The spec lines at the top of this page name only the Chrysler Voyager, yet four of the seven rows are Jeeps, two are Voyagers and one is a PT Cruiser. All seven are diesel, and the engine sizes recorded against them are 2.2, 2.5, 2.7 and 2.8 litres. Go by the rows, not the Engines line.

Cherokee and Voyager: the same two engine sizes, four separate rows

A 2.5 CRD appears twice in the table, once in the Jeep Cherokee (062) and once in the Chrysler Voyager (814). The 2.8 CRD does the same, with 279 for the Cherokee and 121 for the Voyager. The Cherokee on both of its rows is the KJ.

So engine size on its own leaves two rows, and so does the model on its own, because each of these two models has a row for each size. Put the two details together and every one of these cars lands on a single row: Cherokee 2.5 on 062, Cherokee 2.8 on 279, Voyager 2.5 on 814 and Voyager 2.8 on 121.

That is four of the five single-row matches on this page, and it is why we ask for the engine size as well as the model, not instead of it.

Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD: two Bosch numbers, one car

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD is the only model and engine size in the table with two rows: 0281 010 293, paired with P56044 356AC, and 0281 011 409, paired with P56044 679AA. Model and engine size are identical on both, so neither detail separates them.

Our records give no rule for which Grand Cherokee carries which unit, and we will not make one up. Read the Bosch number off the case instead. The last three digits, 293 or 409, tell the rows apart, and the OEM number printed beside it should match the same row.

If it does not, send both numbers exactly as they read rather than choosing between them.

PT Cruiser 2.2 CRD: the row with no neighbour

The Chrysler PT Cruiser appears once, on 0281 011 410 with OEM number P05034 035AB, and it is the only 2.2 in the table. Here model and engine size do not have to work together; either one on its own points to the same row.

It is also the row most easily overlooked, because neither the Fits line nor the Engines line mentions a PT Cruiser or a 2.2. If yours is a PT Cruiser 2.2 CRD, check its label against the 410 row.

Copying the OEM number: keep the closing letters

Each OEM number in the table ends in two letters, such as the AC on P56044 356AC. On the rows ending 293, 814, 062 and 121, those letters differ from one record to the next while the numeric part stays the same. The numeric part is what ties the OEM number to its Bosch number; the letters mark a revision.

So copy the whole OEM number exactly as your label prints it, letters included, even where they differ from ours. On those four rows a different pair of letters is to be expected.

Two numbers need extra care. The Voyager 2.5 number begins P0, a zero after the P rather than a letter O. And if your Voyager 2.8 label carries characters before the 5094 that our table leaves off, include them.

What happens to your EDC15C5 once it reaches us

Each unit is logged against the numbers and the vehicle you give us, visually inspected and electrically tested, then taken through diagnostics specific to the fault you describe. It all happens in our own UK workshop, done by our own engineers on our own equipment.

We then contact you with what we found and what the repair involves, and no chargeable work begins until you authorise it. Faulty components are repaired at board level, under a microscope with temperature-controlled rework equipment, and the job is not complete until the unit passes final testing. The ECU that returns is the one you sent, with a 24-month warranty on the repair.
