Customer sent the ECU to us after he went to a local tuning company to have the vehicle remapped. The ECU could not be remapped so they attempted to remove the ECU and fit an upgraded ‘superchip’ to increase the performance of the vehicle. Since having this work done, the vehicle does not start and they suspect the ECU is damaged.

Upon initial inspection we found the chip was badly soldered in place. We reworked the solder and put the unit on our testing rig but was unable to load any maps so suspect the chip was damaged. We then replaced the chip and reflashed the unit. The ECU then passed on our testing rig and we were able to simulate cranking the engine and starting the vehicle.
